Schools and Youth Groups
The Lake District National Park is the perfect environment for children and young people to visit and take part in some fun and adventurous outdoor activities.
Our youth activity days are tailored to suit the group, we can structure the activities in a way to ensure the children find themselves in a situation that may stretch their level of comfort to perhaps enable them to rise to a new challenge and build their confidence and ability to try new adventitious tasks, or we can simply help them enjoy the great outdoors and what it has to offer - all in all its really about the children having fun and taking away an experience that will stay with them for a lifetime.
Our remote and spectacular location means our groups can experience the authentic great outdoors. On most occasions, we have the activity venues to ourselves, and the beauty of not being in a centre environment is that you get a true sense of what fantastic adventure is out there. Our location gives use easy access to Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England and Wastwater the deepest lake, as well as other excellent venues for outdoor activities.
Multi-Activity day packages
We can create a day or multi-day package for school and youth groups, we can put together a suggested itinerary to include some fun and rewarding activities. We use locations where our activities can be grouped close together to enable the groups to get the most of their day.
West Lakes Adventure can provide a range of activities as part of your school day trip or residential school trip, including:
- Canoeing

Residential trips, tailor-made and all inclusive
A school trip can be a valuable learning experience for any child. West Lakes Adventure work alongside a family run school travel service based in the Lake District, they are the school trip specialist and can provide a full residential package, including transport, accommodation and all the documentation required for the trip. They really do take all the work out of organising your school’s trip! Paul has worked in education for 19 years, a proportion of that time as a head teacher, and his wife Victoria worked in the travel industry for over 20 years. They have a fleet of their own coaches, so transport is not an issue and they have a great working relationship with YHA’s which are a safe haven for the children.
